Built On The Quiet Standard.
We picked up our first roll of tint film in a friend's garage in 2019. The first install came out crooked, the second had a thumbprint trapped under the rear glass, and the third one we charged for. Five years and roughly two thousand vehicles later, the standards we hold ourselves to come from those early mistakes — not from a manual.
Umbra Auto Studio started for the same reason most small shops start: we kept seeing tint jobs and detail work that was almost right, but not actually right. Bubbled film. Swirl marks under the polish. "Ceramic coatings" that washed off in three weeks. The standard in this industry is lower than it should be — and most customers do not know enough about the work to push back. So we opened a studio that takes the longer way, every time, on every car.
We are factory-trained on the films and coatings we install. We use products with documented warranties from manufacturers we can call by name. We work in a controlled environment so dust does not end up under your tint. And we charge what the work actually costs — not what an automated quote tool spits out.
The name is a joke. The work is not.

A rushed install is a failed install. We schedule properly so every car gets the time it actually needs — not the time the booking system allotted.
Premium Products Only
We do not stock budget films or off-brand coatings. If we would not put it on our own car, we will not put it on yours.

We quote based on the work, not the badge on the hood. No surprise fees, no upsells, no "your car is special" pricing.

Lifetime warranty on tinting. Multi-year warranties on coatings. If something is wrong, we fix it. That is the deal.

Garage Days
First roll of film. Two friends, three test cars, and a borrowed heat gun. The very first install was crooked. We kept the photo.
Studio Opens
Moved into a real bay with proper lighting and clean-air filtration. Hired our first full-time detailer. Booking calendar filled within six weeks.
Mobile Service
Launched the mobile fleet for tint and detail. Half our weekly bookings now happen at a customer's office or driveway.
